- Our AAA Insurance agent - Since we have full coverage on our cars, she told us that it wasn't necessary to get the rental car insurance at $13 per day. That saved us $91! As a side note, we saved another $91 with an upgrade to a compact since all of the economy cars were gone upon our arrival at National Rental Cars in Denver. Woo hoo!
- The Magill's - Jim and Beth are Simpson family friends and were the amazing hosts who allowed us to spend three nights at Chateau Magill in Fraser, Colorado. Jim made it even better by preparing breakfast consisting of lemon-pepper scrambled eggs and other joyous breakfast accouterments. They also introduced us to Hernando's Pizza, which we then were craving for the next 14 days until we returned. I don't know what we'll do now that we're 923.68 miles away from them. Beth and Jim are also the proud owners of Britney the Men in Black pug. Britney's best feature is, by far, his snoring.
- Adrienne and Dave - Julia worked at Fontbonne University with Adrienne back in the day. She has since moved to Montana and Julia has wanted to visit her for some time. No time like a baseball and National Park road trip, huh? They were so cool, along with their dogs - Darryl, Dino and Koah and cats - Starsky and Woods Kitty (who we never actually saw), that we changed up our schedule and eliminated one baseball game from the itinerary to hang out with them. No lie. They were that cool.
- Ryan Brach - VP, Business Development/Broadcasting for the Portland Beavers. Ryan sat with us for 2 1/2 innings to talk about our trip, behind the scenes with a minor league baseball teams and suggested we find Todd Rahr in Boise the next day. Ryan took the time out of his busy schedule to spend time with two idiots from St. Louis on a 5,000-mile road trip. That's extremely cool and way above the call of duty. Ryan only served to further solidify my love of Portland, Oregon. Thanks, Ryan!
- Todd Rahr - President/General Manager of the Boise Hawks. Ryan told us that Todd was a great guy and to find him at the game. How right Ryan was! Todd was sincerely excited about our trip and grateful that we chose Boise as one of our destinations. He talked with us for a while and gave us front row seats complete with free eats. He even came back several times during the game to check on us to make sure we were having a good time. He gave me a Northwest League baseball, which is now encased and proudly displayed on my baseball memorabilia shelf. My Boise Hawks hat became the most highly favored on the trip as I wore it almost every day after that. Thanks, Todd. You really made the trip to Boise awesome for us.
If we omitted anyone, it was completely accidental and done because we are dumb, not spiteful.

6. Thanks to you, our loyal friends and fans, who read every day, laughed at my humor attempts, and were honest in the comments. We are lucky to have you.
That's what you MEANT to say, right??
However, did I omit that? A mere oversight...
