Day 3: NYC

We left Chambersburg, Pennsylvania this morning on our journey to NYC, the Big Apple, the city that never sleeps, blah, blah, blah. We paid our tolls in order to proceed forward on the highway of life and made our way to The Westin at 270 West 43rd in Times Square. We had to split pretty quickly to make the Yankees game on time. We built in extra time, which was a good thing due to the hellish waiting in the line of death for the Lincoln Tunnel only to find a stalled car blocking one of the lanes. Doubting Thomas is probably sitting in his big comfy Lazy Boy with a big fat "I told you to plan for flat tires and stalled cars in tunnels dug under rivers. Like the Boy Scouts, always be prepared."

Super Awesome Forgetful Moment of My Lifetime
As you may have read, due to Mr. Paul Hewson's (aka Bono) back surgery, our U2 concert was postponed until July 20, 2011. So we had to find something else to do, thus, Cooperstown and Niagara Falls made their way onto the itinerary. Well on the subway up to 161st in the Bronx, my often dozing travel companion asked, "Did you bring our passports?" You can plainly see where this is going. Doubting Thomas, don't say a word. Stick to flat tires and 4,000 miles, my friend.

We frantically called one of the greatest people on the planet, Pat, the guy who failed miserably to raise the sail in Chicago - maybe I should pull that video off the blog. Like a cat burglar in stealth mode, he broke into our place, somehow made his way past the four ferocious rabies infested felines and secured our passports. He then found a FedEx office that was still open and they are on their way to us. We're hoping that they'll be here first thing Monday morning and we won't miss a beat. A super awesome thanks must go out to PC. You, sir, are the best thing since sliced milk and we owe you BIG TIME. That was actually dumber than forgetting the Ziplock of toll change and I blame Bono. He just keeps finding new and clever ways to rub it in. I really hate that guy.
