Today marks Day 3 in Alaska, the Summer Solstice and Father's Day.
Apparently, that's a pretty big deal in these parts as there are Solstice festivals (aka, reasons to drink one's self silly and call in sick on Monday) in most places. None is like Fairbanks where the 104th Midnight Sun Game was played between the Lake Erie Monarchs and the hometown Alaska Goldpanners. In 104 years, the game has NEVER used artificial lighting and tonight continued the streak.
And what would one of my trips be without pictures of hotties? Would I let you down? NEVER! Here's a glimpse into the lives of an North Central Alaskan father and son celebrating Father's Day by enjoying the Midnight Sun Game. Aren't they cute?
